President Prabowo Subianto delivers a keynote speech for the Indonesia-Japan Business Forum at Imperial Hotel Tokyo, Japan, Monday (03/30).

President Prabowo Subianto has once again underscored the Government’s commitment to fostering concrete, continuous investment [partnership] with Japanese counterparts through a practical and result-oriented approach.

This message was conveyed in his keynote address at the Indonesia-Japan Business Forum held at the Imperial Hotel Tokyo in Japan, Monday (03/30).

“In this strategic transformation, our approach is very practical and pragmatic. All our projects must be viable, bankable, deliver real benefits, and real return on investment,” he said.

The President also emphasized that Indonesia remains open to international collaboration, particularly with Japan, which excels in technology, methodology, and industrial experience.

He also expressed confidence that synergy between these strengths and Indonesia’s resources and economic growth would foster a mutually beneficial partnership.

“That is why we are very open to Japanese active participation, technology, experience, and methods. We believe that, combined with our resources, growth, and scale, this relationship can be mutually beneficial for both sides,” he said.

The President highlighted that Indonesia is offering not only investment opportunities, but also long-term strategic partnerships to international counterparts.

To enhance efficiency and transparency, the President explained that his Government has established a sovereign wealth fund to consolidate Indonesia’s assets and state-owned enterprises under a unified management structure.

“We want rational management, best practices. We want to root out corruption and maleficence, and the results are very promising,” he said.

The Head of State further highlighted the strong performance in the first year of the state wealth fund’s operation, noting that some assets recoded an almost a nearly 300% increase in return on assets.

“Some have achieved nearly 300% improvements in return on assets. This is very encouraging, but we know that we still have a long way to go; nevertheless, we remain optimistic about our trajectory,” he said.

“Once again, we offer opportunities, but now we are offering a genuine partnership, seeking partners who are ready to join us in building industries, transferring technology, and growing together,” he said.

With a new approach, more credible and result-oriented approach, Indonesia is increasingly regarded as an investment destination that is not only promising but also trusted and poised to become a growth epicenter, both regionally and globally. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RD/EP)
