Australian Governor General Welcomes President Jokowi in State Ceremony

Governor General of Australia David Hurley and spouse Linda Hurley warmly welcomed the arrival of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo in a state ceremony held at Government House, Canberra, Australia, Sunday (9/2).

The visit to the Australian Government House was the first agenda of President Jokowi during his state visit to the country.

Upon arrival at the State Entrance, President Jokowi was welcomed by the Governor General and spouse. Afterwards, they took a group photo in front of the main door before entering the building.

The two leaders then were welcomed by Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne, First Assistant Secretary and DPMC Ministerial Support Division Gerrard Martin and they proceeded to attend the state ceremony.

Then, President Jokowi signed a guest book in the Drawing Room and had a meeting with General David Hurley at Private Hall.

The state reception was closed with a luncheon hosted by the Australian counterpart.

Before leaving, President Jokowi went on a tour of the Government House area in a buggy car together with General David Hurley and PM of Australia Scott Morrison. (BPMI/EN)
