Bali Presents a Positive Image of Indonesia, President Jokowi Says

When starting a Limited Meeting on Evaluation of the Implementation of National Strategic Projects and Priority Programs of Bali Province at the Presidential Office, on Wednesday (14/6) afternoon, President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo said that Bali has a unique strength which other provinces do not have. This strength is the capacity to drive the economy by using other sectorbesides natural resources.

“It is tourism sector and creative industry that drive the economy,” the President said. Thanks to these sectors, Bali Island has presented a positive image of Indonesia. Foreign tourists are more familiar with Bali than Indonesia.

However, the President said that the momentum of growth of these two sectors must be well-maintained. Thus, it will bring a significant impact for the prosperity of Balinese people and also the advancement of Bali Province.

Also attending the Limited Meeting were Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Puan Maharani, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Presidential Chief of Staff Teten Masduki, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Rini Soemarno, Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartarto,  Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukita, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Social Affairs Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Minister of Research and Technology and Higher Education Mohamad Nasir, Minister of Communication and Informatics Rudiantara, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ignasius Jonan, Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/Head of National Land Agency Sofyan Djalil, Minister of Tourism Arief Yahya, and Governor of Bali I Made Mangku Pastika.
