Balikpapan-Samarinda Toll Road is Targeted to Finish December 2018

In his working visit to East Kalimantan on Thursday (13/7), President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo inspected the construction of Balikpapan-Samarinda Toll Road.

“I recheck the 99.2 kilometers Toll Road from Balikpapan to Samarinda. The construction has 25 percent finished, while land acquisition process has finished 92 percent,” the President said at the location of inspection, kilometer 13 of Balikpapan-Samarinda Toll Road, South Balikpapan Subdistrict, Balikpapan City.

The President asserted that there is no more problem in the construction. Therefore, as quoted from the press release of the Head of Press, Media, and Information Bureau, Secretariat of the President, Bey Machmudin, the President has set a target that this project shall be finished by December 2018.“I hope this Toll Road can be expanded up to Bontang,” the President said.

In the meantime, the construction of Manggar Bridge, that located at this Toll Road, has 77.01 percent completed. “The 613 meters Bridge almost finishes,” the President further said.

Also accompanying the President during the working visit were Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of State Owned Enterprises Rini Soemarno, and Governor of East Kalimantan Awang Faroek Ishak. (BPMI/ES/EN)(MMB/YM/Naster)
