Big Companies, MSMEs Partnership Expected to Increase Competitiveness Against Global Market
The partnership of large companies, both foreign investment (PMA) and domestic investment company (PMDN) with Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) must provide benefits to both parties, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has said.
“Big companies must not only be concerned with their own business. Please involve the surrounding MSMEs in your company activities so that they can level up their businesses,” the President said in his virtual remarks on the Signing of Partnership Cooperation of PMA and PMDN with MSMEs, Monday (18/01).
Furthermore, President Jokowi ensures that the Government will continue to strive and build a favorable ecosystem in order to create mutually beneficial collaboration between MSMEs and big companies. In addition, the collaboration is expected to grow and increase the competitiveness of MSMEs against global market.
“I demand the collaboration to be multiplied in the future,” President Jokowi said.
On that occasion, the Head of State also expressed appreciation to the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) for their hard work amid the pandemic to increase investment which also contributed to the growth of MSMEs in Indonesia.
For the record, the signing involved 56 large companies (29 PMA and 27 PMDN) and 196 MSMEs with a potential contract value of up to Rp1.5 trillion. (TGH/UN) (GWH/LW)
