‘Blusukan’ to BSD City Market, President Jokowi Promises to Improve the Quality of Bulog Rice

Venturing activities on Monday (13/4) morning, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) suddenly blusukan (visits) to the BSD City Modern Market in South Tangerang, Banten. He arrived at the location at 8:30 am greeted by the Minister of Trade Rahmat Gobel, Plt. Governor of Banten Rano Karno, and South Tangerang Mayor Airin Rachmi Diany.
The arrival of President Jokowi that uses brown batik shirt is greeted enthusiastically by the merchants and residents who thronged the BSD City Modern Market. They are not just scramble to shake hands, but most of them also scramble taking photos.
On that occasion, the President asked for a merchant who sells about Bulog rice. “I said the price of rice increased from Rp 5,200 to Rp 5,800, Bulog rice quality is bad,” Pono said, the trader who asked by Jokowi.
In response, President Jokowi promised to change kind of rice, even though with the standard price, but the quality of the rice will be replaced with a better one.
After asking about the price of rice, the President Jokowi walks around the BSD City Modern Market. He seemed taking the time to buy three bunches of rambutan, guava, and vegetables.
After walking around for about 45 minutes, President Jokowi leaves the BSD City Modern Market through the south door.
