BNPB Head Affirms Importance of People to Understand Way to Combat Covid-19

Head of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) Doni Monardo highlighted the importance of understanding the Covid-19 threat for Indonesian people and ways of combating the pandemic together.

“We must no longer lose any more time, lose our momentum due to our debates on the theory to fight this pandemic,” Doni acted as the Chief of COVID-19 Mitigation Task Force stated at the BNPB office, Jakarta, Wednesday (18/3).

Indonesia, Doni said, needs to optimize all existing governing potentials including provincial, municipal, urban village, hamlet (RW), and neighborhood (RT) levels.

According to Doni, urban village heads need to have the capacity to carry out all policies that have been issued by the central government, as well as to be in line with local governments. This is to ensure that every level of government needs are on the same page.”Nobody is on the other side. Stop all the debates. Now, it is time to convince our people, to make them understand what we are facing today and what our measures to handle it. To unite and take care of each other are the best solutions today,” he concluded.  (DND/EN)
