President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has called on ministers and heads of institutions to use the audit results of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) as a parameter of improvement, reform and changes in the management of the State Budget.

Alhamdulillah, the Central Government can maintain the ‘unqualified opinion’, the best level of audit grade from the BPK for four consecutive years since 2016. The number of audit entities that receive the unqualified opinion has also increased from 82 entities in 2018 to 85 in 2019,” the President said in his remarks at the Submission of Audit Reports on the Central Government Financial Report (LHP LKPP) at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday (20/7).

President Jokowi also ordered ministries and institutions that have obtained the unqualified opinion to maintain the predicate while continuing to carry out reforms in their respective institutions.

In the meantime, he also told those which have received qualified opinion (one level below unqualified opinion) the without expressing opinion and to immediately correct their financial reports.

“For ministries and institutions that still get ‘qualified opinion’ and ‘without expressing opinion’, do immediately make improvements, breakthroughs and take steps for significant changes,” the President ordered.

The Head of State also said he will continue to regularly review and monitor the corrective measures that have been taken by ministers and heads of institutions.

“The corrective steps must be concrete, real, so that every public money issued by the Government can be accounted for and benefit the people,” President Jokowi continued.

On that occasion, the President also praised the BPK for completing the Central Government audit report.

“I express my gratitude and highest appreciation for the hard work of all leaders and employees of the BPK in completing the Central Government Financial Reports in 2019,” the President said. (FID / EN)
