President of the Federative Republic of Brazil Luis Inácio Lula da Silva Wednesday evening (22/10) arrived at Halim Perdana Kusuma Air Force Base in East Jakarta at 17.45 West Indonesian Time (WIB).

His arrival marked the beginning of the state visit to Indonesia, a momentum to strengthen friendship between the two countries.

The Brazilian President was welcomed by Indonesian Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, Brazilian Ambassador to Indonesia George Monteiro Prata, Indonesian Ambassador to Brazil Andhika Crisnayudhanto, and Commander of Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base First Marshall Erwin Sugiandi.

President Lula Da Silva showed a warm gesture while receiving a welcome bouquet from Abang None Jakarta (cultural ambassadors).

After greeting the welcoming delegation, President Lula da Silva proceeded past the guard of honor standing in formation along the arrival route. The atmosphere was solemn and cordial as the military drum band accompanied the President’s steps toward his official vehicle.

From the airport, the President continued his journey to the hotel where he would be staying during his visit to Jakarta.

The following day, he is scheduled to be hosted by President Prabowo Subianto at a state welcoming ceremony at Merdeka Palace Jakarta.

President Lula da Silva’s visit serves as a reciprocal visit following President Prabowo Subianto’s state visit to Brasília in July 2025.

The visit is also expected to further strengthen strategic cooperation between the two countries across various sectors. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RD/EP)
