Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung on Wednesday (8/11) handed over the budget execution lists (DIPA) and the 2020 Operational Activity Guidelines (POK) to millennial Presidential Special Staff at the office of Cabinet Secretariat, Jakarta.

According to Pramono, millennials appointed as Special Staff specifically received an assignment from the President; yet, all administrative matters will be handled by Cabinet Secretariat.

“I want to guide and take care of these millennials Special Staff. They are not part of the government system, which means that the budget use is regulated by the existing laws,” Pramono said.

Cabinet Secretary added that millennials Special Staff should be able to separate their responsibilities as special staff to the President and their personal interests, adding that the special staff still could still nurture their talents and work outside the office since the President give them space to do so.

“That would be a pity if these talented young people are only limited by their duties as special staff. They still have a lot of energy, good talents, great educational background. Not to mention that they are also active in social, cultural, and business matters,” Pramono said.

For that reason, Pramono continued, he will guide, take care, also encourage them so that they can avoid problems due to lack of knowledge about administrative matters.

“I see that each of them has extraordinary talents. They are Putri, Belva, Ayu, Angki, Taufan, Billy, and Amin. I would also like to encourage and help them in developing networking,” he added.

On that occasion, Pramono told millennials Special Staff that if they want to improvise and develop themselves, Cabinet Secretariat will fully support them administratively. Pramono also said that the total amount of DIPA received by those millennials Special Staff is relatively lower than that of previous special staff.

According to Pramono, the reduction was due to the addition of seven new Presidential Special Staff and two Vice Presidential Special Staff that need more budget. However, Pramono expressed belief that millennials Presidential Special Staff will use the budget properly. (FID / JAY / ES)
