Cabinet Secretariat on Thursday (26/9) in Bandung handed over static archives on cabinet sessions and limited cabinet meetings convened from the period of 1997 to 2014 to the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI).

Deputy to Cabinet Secretary for Administrative Affairs Farid Utomo said in his remarks that the archives tell the stories of the nation’s journey; thus those achieves are highly valuable due to their historical values.

“The archives that include cabinet sessions and limited cabinet meetings reflect how we run the Government of Indonesia,” he added.

Farid also stated that the handover also became historical evidence made by the officials of Cabinet Secretariat.

In the meantime, ANRI Acting Head M. Taufik welcomed the archives’ handover. “This shows that the archives are no longer a trivial matter,” he said, adding that the ANRI will remain committed to supporting President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo and his administration.

Taufik also expressed hope that the cooperation with Cabinet Secretariat does not stop at archive handover.

“It is my hope that we will be given the opportunity to work on archives at your institution (Cabinet Secretariat) with a special assignment concept,” he added. (RAF/OJI/ES)
