Cabinet Secretariat Holds 2020 Indonesia-Korea Legislative Cooperation Seminar

Office of Deputy for Political, Legal and Security Affairs of Cabinet Secretariat on Thursday (24/9) held virtual 2020 Indonesia-Korea Legislative Cooperation seminar.

The seminar was a follow-up to the action plan of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between Cabinet Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia and Ministry of Government Legislation of the Republic of Korea.

“The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between Cabinet Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia and Ministry of Government Legislation of the Republic of Korea document was signed on 10 September 2018 in Seoul, South Korea,” said Deputy to Cabinet Secretary for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Fadlansyah Lubis in a release received by setkab.go.id.

According to the release, the virtual seminar has two main agendas, namely:

First, the signing of Plan of Action for the Implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation Between Cabinet Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia and Ministry of Government Legislation of the Republic of Korea for the Period of 2020-2021, and

Second, Q&A session related to the establishment of legislation in the two countries.

“On the signing of 2020-2021 Plan of Action agenda, both parties have agreed to cooperate in the context of implementing legislation reform in Indonesia through various cooperation programs, including capacity building and the establishment of legislation information system,” reads the release.

Moreover, the two parties have also agreed to exchange information on the legislations in the two countries and share thoughts on the topic of the next meeting relevant to the two countries in relation to the implementation of legislative reform in Indonesia as a form of learning process towards the establishment of laws and regulations in the Republic of Korea.

“The Ministry of Government Legislation of the Republic of Korea also expressed hope that the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia can be immediately handled so that the cooperation program for organizing seminars in 2021 can be held,” reads the release.
