Cabinet Secretariat Holds Forum on Cabinet Meeting Minutes

Cabinet Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia held a discussion forum entitled “Coffee Morning on Management of Cabinet Meeting Minutes” in Jakarta, Tuesday (08/28).

The event, attended by 130 participants from Government Ministries/Agencies and regional governments, aims to equip stakeholders with an understanding of the procedures for managing cabinet meeting minutes, as part of an endeavor to maintain government accountability.

On that occasion, Assistant to the Deputy Cabinet Secretary for Cabinet Meeting Minutes Heru Priyantono highlighted the pivotal role of the Office of Deputy Cabinet Secretary for Cabinet Work Support (DKK) in facilitating cabinet meetings and other meetings chaired by the President and/or the Vice President.

“The DKK assists the Cabinet Secretary in preparing, administering, organizing, and managing cabinet meetings and other meetings chaired by the President or the Vice President,” Heru said.

Heru went on to say that Regulation of Cabinet Secretary Number 1 of 2020 on the Organization and Work Procedures of the Cabinet Secretariat stipulates that the Office of Assistant to the Deputy Cabinet Secretary for Cabinet Meeting Minutes is tasked with providing the recording, transcription, and management of Cabinet Meeting minutes and other meetings chaired by the President and/or the Vice President.

“Cabinet meeting decisions are of pivotal importance in determining national policies and affecting all aspects of the people’s life,” Heru said.

Heru further said that contact persons in Government Ministries, regional governments, and State-Owned Enterprises play an important role in distributing Cabinet meeting minutes so that the President’s directives can be implemented immediately. (ECH/DNS) (RI/MUR)
