Cabinet Secretariat Holds Webinar on Women’s Resilience

Cabinet Secretariat’s organization for wives of state officials (Dharma Wanita Persatuan/DWP), Friday (12/17), held a webinar adopting a theme “Improving Indonesian Women’s Resilience through Mental Health and Recovery of Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises”.

The theme was in line with concern of Cabinet Secretariat’s DWP on its 22nd Anniversary on 17 December 2021, namely awareness on mental health of Indonesian women during COVID-19 pandemic.

“The webinar is held to commemorate the 22nd Anniversary of the DWP. Through this event, we will learn more about the roles of women that are not limited to developing themselves and families, but also to the communities and the state. The State will become more robust if there are strong women behind,” Advisor of Cabinet Secretariat’s DWP Endang Nugrahani Pramono Anung said.

She went on to say that women have important roles in preventing and handling COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in family clusters.

“As a mother and wife, women will do her best to ensure the good health and condition of her family,” she said.

On economic sector, she added, women also play an important role in micro and small businesses indicating by large number of MSMEs run by women. In addition, most workers in the MSMEs are also women.

In this regard, Cabinet Secretariat held this webinar to explore ways to improving women’s resilience, maintaining good mental health, and developing entrepreneurship for women.

“Those prominent roles of the women depend on their mental health which allowed them to contribute, to stay productive and helpful for their families, communities, and the state,” she said while also calling for women’s larger roles in the recovery of MSMEs.

For the record, the webinar also featured Presidential Special Staffer Angkie Yudistia as speaker who shared her knowledge on the empowerment of women with disabilities, particularly on micro and small businesses. (FID/AIT/ST) (RAS/MUR)
