Cabinet Secretary Andi Widjajanto And Deputy Ambassador of Australia in Contra Terrorism Effort
Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Andi Widjajanto receives Deputy Ambassador of Australia for Indonesia, Dr. David Engel, at Main Building of State Secretariat office, on Friday (13/12), to discuss about the cooperation between the two countries.
Andi said that the cooperation is in areas such as infrastructure, energy, maritime and food sustainability which are main programs of President Joko Jokowi Widodo. Other topics are in discussion were education, health and poverty eradication.
Dr. David Engel explains programs between Indonesia and Australia, which are currently on their progress. There are possibilities to do cooperation in bureaucracy reform, infrastructure and maritime. They will try to comply with President Jokowis priorities, said Andi.
According to Andi, Australian government would try to coordinate with Indonesia in contra-terrorism efforts, in order to tackle ISIS movement.
Illegal fishing, because there is frontier between Australian sea and Indonesian. Even, Australia is interested to have closer coordination with Indonesia, because we would form Maritime Security Agency, said Andi.
Dr. David Engel is accompanied by James Gilling, Minister Development Cooperation, and Casimo Thawley, Political Department at Asutralian Embassy. On the other hand, Andi Widjajanto is accompanied by Deputy of Seskab on Polhukam Bistok Simbolon, Deputy Seskab on People Welfare Surat Indijarso, and Expert Staff on Law and International Relations Fadlansyah Lubis.
