Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung Tuesday (06/12) attended a Working Meeting and Hearing with Commission II of the House of Representatives at the Nusantara Building of DPR RI.

The meeting, chaired by Deputy Chairman of Commission II Syamsurizal, discussed the evaluation of the 2023 budget implementation, the evaluation of the 2024 budget implementation, the introduction to the 2025 State Budget Bill, and the 2025 Government Work Plan.

“The Cabinet Secretariat’s 2023 budget was Rp356,605,412,000. And alhamdulillah, by the end of the budget period, the budget realization for both the Management Support Program and Service Program for the President and Vice President reached approximately 98.38 percent,” Pramono said.

The Cabinet Secretary highlighted that the Cabinet Secretariat has consistently received an Unqualified Opinion (WTP) from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) for nine consecutive years.

Pramono also said that based on the letter from Minister of Finance number S-773/MK.02/2023, the 2024 Cabinet Secretariat’s Revised State Budget (APBN-P) was Rp424.39 billion and has been realized by 44.62 percent as of May 31, 2024.

Pramono also expressed optimism about realizing the budget according to the target set.

“So, if we calculate up to this year’s June, the realization figure will be close to 50 percent. Thus, for six months, the realization has reached what it has in the previous periods,” Pramono added.

The Cabinet Secretary further said that the Cabinet Secretariat received an indicative budget of Rp428,946,313,000 for the 2025 fiscal year, while underscoring that there will be an internal budget shift between programs to meet the needs for supporting data center procurement, development of system information, and facilities and infrastructure procurement.

“Some programs on providing services to the President and the Vice President will be allocated to the Management Support Program, considering that meetings and some activities will be held in the new capital of Nusantara. Therefore, an additional budget is needed and a shift from the indicative budget will be at Rp11,467,083,000,” Pramono said.

On that occasion, the Cabinet Secretary proposed an additional budget to accommodate additional needs in carrying out the duties and functions of the Cabinet Secretariat.

“We are proposing an additional budget for the 2025 fiscal year amounting to Rp164,310,895,000, to be used primarily for operational budget needs, facilities, and infrastructure for the Cabinet Secretariat in the new capital, and battery-based operational procurement and data processing equipment. Why are we proposing this? Because in Nusantara, all vehicles will be electric, and so on; hence we are indeed moving towards green energy,” he explained.

Furthermore, a budget increase, he added, will also be needed for employee expenses in 2025, including education and training needs and the dispatch of functional translator officials to international events.

“Since the new Cabinet Secretariat will be the one organizing it in 2025, we are preparing well, and we hope that the new Cabinet Secretary understands the core duties of the Cabinet Secretariat,” he remarked. (TGH/ABD) (AP/EP)
