Cabinet Secretary: Eid al-Adha is Momentum to Make Sacrifices for Advanced Indonesia
This year’s Eid al-Adha is a momentum to keep up the spirit and make sacrifices in order to realize an advanced Indonesia, according to Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung
“I hope this momentum can lift our spirits of sacrifice for a better and advanced Indonesia,” he said in his message to commemorate this year’s Eid al-Adha that fell on Thursday (06/29).
He added that Eid al-Adha is more than annual ritual celebrated by Muslims throughout the world. Eid al-Adha teaches us about willingness to sacrifice in remembrance of the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his only son, Prophet Ismail, as an act of obedience to God’s command.
He also expressed hope that Indonesian people can emulate the sincerity and sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ismail.
“With the spirit of Eid al-Adha, we can emulate the determination and attitude of the Prophet Abraham to obey (the God’s command) for the sake of the happiness and glory of life,” he remarked. (MAY/UN)(RAS/MMB)
