Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya initiated the Cabinet Secretariat’s (Setkab) Innovation Competition—an event for staff at the Cabinet Secretariat Office to propose ideas, innovations, and solutions in support of the Government’s priority programs and the President’s Asta Cita (eight missions).

The competition was part of the Office’s bureaucracy reform, aimed at improving work culture which is innovative, collaborative, solution-oriented, and focused on building human resource capacity.

“All staff are given opportunities to propose their best ideas aimed at bringing tangible benefits to Indonesians and supporting the country’s advancement,” Teddy explained in a written statement.

At the initial phase, the Office received 106 innovation proposals from its various working units. After the selection process, the top 30 proposals proceeded to the elimination round on Sunday (4/26).

Then, the best 16 proposers were given the opportunity to present their ideas in person to the Cabinet Secretary in a 3-minute pitch format on Monday (6/8).

This short presentation format challenged the proposers to produce relevant and applicable ideas, sharpen their critical thinking skills, present their ideas effectively, and respond to various questions and input in a measured manner.

Teddy expected that the competition is not merely about ideas, but the ideas proposed at the competition can be developed into concrete solutions for the benefit of Indonesians and the country’s advancement.
