The Indonesian Government provides more funding for human capital development, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung said in his remarks in graduation ceremony at the Indo Global Mandiri University (UIGM), Palembang, Saturday (8/12).

“Those of you who want to study abroad can apply for scholarship,” Pramono said.

The university graduates have bigger opportunity to pursue master or doctoral degree at home and abroad since the Government provides more funding for scholarships, Pramono said, adding that the scholarships help the students from low-income families to get higher education.

“You have to achieve more than what your parents have achieved and you have to give your best to your family in the future,” Pramono added.

At the end of the speech, Pramono extended congratulations to the graduates.

“Welcome to the jungle. You have graduated (from the university) and you can no longer be dependent to your parents. You have to start thinking about jobs and earning a living,” the Cabinet Secretary concluded.

Also present during the event was Special Staff to Cabinet Secretary Emir Kresna Wardana. (RAH/EN)
