Although there are a lot of differences and ups and downs, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung is confident that Indonesia already has a social capital to overcome them, namely the 1945 Constitution and Pancasila (Five Principles). Therefore, under the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) these differences are unified.

“That is the social capital of our nation at the moment. With this, I believe Indonesia can be a winner nation,” the Cabinet Secretary said during his interview on the commemoration of National Awakening Day 2018 at his working office in Jakarta, last weekend. This means diversity becomes a social capital that strengthens this country which has various ethnic groups.

Indonesia in the future will be a winner nation because it already has a unifying constitution, and has a strong and deeply rooted ideology. Diversity is strengthening the nation, not otherwise.

In the meantime, regarding the plan to launch Online Single Submission (OSS) system on the commemoration of National Awakening Day 2018, Pramono said that if we want to move forward, then we, as Indonesian people, must change ourselves.

One that must be changed, according to Pramono, is the Government’s bureaucracy. For the sake of moving forward, bureaucracy from the lowest to highest levels should be changed.

He also reminded that Indonesia is currently a member of the G20. If Indonesia’s economic growth can be maintained and the Government can carry out bureaucratic reforms, such as ease of business permit issuance with Online Single Submission, more investors are expected to come to Indonesia to invest.

“With OSS, the process becomes more transparent, easier, and simple. They are reluctant to invest in Indonesia because the opposite situation has happened before,” Pramono concluded.

For the record, this year’s National Awakening Day adopts a theme “Development of Human Resources to Strengthen Indonesia’s National Awakening Foundation in the Digital Age”. (DNA/RAH/ES) (GWH/MMB/Naster)
