Cabinet Secretary Invites Netizens to Visit Entikong Border Check Point

To prove President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo’s Nawa Cita (9 priority agendas of Jokowi-JK Administration) Programs, Cabinet Secretary invited 4 netizens to visit Entikong State Border Check Point (PLBN), Sanggau Regency, West Kalimantan Province, on Tuesday (24/4).

In line with Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung’s instruction at the launch of Social Media Contest #MenujuIndonesiaMaju (toward an advanced Indonesia) on 26 March 2018, the purpose of netizen’s participation to PLBN Entikong was to review in person development achievement undertaken by the Government.

Aside from visiting PLBN, Cabinet Secretariat and its entourage also observe various PLBN supporting facilities, among others, Tayan Bridge and the 2nd stage of PLBN construction. For the record, Entikong Integrated PLBN was inaugurated by President Jokowi on 21 December 2016, as an official crossing gate for vehicles, people, and goods, in accordance with President’s Nawa Cita that is to develop Indonesia from its boundaries by reinforcing regions and villages as part of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

Cabinet Secretariat’s entourage was welcomed by Division Head of Entikong PLBN Management Viktorius Dunand, under National Agency for Border Management (BNPP). In his remark, Viktor uttered that in January 2015, President Jokowi paid a working visit to Entikong PLBN.

An outcome from the working visit was the signing of Presidential Instruction Number 6 of 2015 on Accelerating Development of 7 (seven) Integrated PLBN and Supporting Infrastructure in the Border Areas on 25 April 2015.

Viktor added the Entikong PLBN development has given a huge impact, not only a credit for Indonesia but also economic improvement for the local community. “After the launching of the 1st stage of PLBN which is a core zone, the 2nd stage of the development is underway including PLBN supporting facilities, such as masjid, public toilet, modern market, terminals interstate, Indonesian guest house, convenience store, health quarantine, fisheries and agricultural quarantine. The construction was carried out by PT Adhi HK which has been set to finish in 2019,” Victor explained.

Division Head of Information Management, Assistant Deputy of Human Relations and Protocol, Said Muhidin, expressed his hope that Entikong could be tourist destination for domestic and foreign tourists, especially from neighboring country Malaysia which borders with PLBN Entikong.

The four netizens that is Dewi Nuryanti, Terry Endropoetro, Choirul Huda, and Monica Anggen, raised questions in a discussion session with Entikong PLBN authorities and other related institutions, among others, Immigration, Customs and Excise, Health Quarantine (Ministry of Health), Fisheries Quarantine (Ministry of Maritime and Fisheries Affairs), Agricultural Quarantine (Ministry of Agriculture).

Division Head of Information Service and Dissemination, Assistant Deputy of Human Relations and Protocol, Mita Apriyanti expectated that Sanggau Regency could develop adequate health facilities (hospitals) for its community so that they must not travel to neighboring country only for having a complete health facility.

The visit was attended by Office Head of Entikong 2nd Class Immigration, Office Head of Entikong Border Customs and Excise, Head of Health Quarantine, Head of Agricultural Quarantine, Head of Fisheries Quarantine, and PLBN Entikong high ranking officials of 3rd and 4th echelons.
