Cabinet Secretary: Kartini’s Spirit Lives on in Nation’s Heart

The 2024 Kartini Day serves as momentum on the struggle for equality and education development in the country, according to Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.

Pramono said that education development is essential in achieving Advanced Indonesia in 2045.

“I hope the spirit of Kartini continues to live on in our hearts for the advancement of our nation and country,” he said on Sunday (21/04) in his press statement on Kartini Day commemorated every April 21.

Pramono pointed out that Kartini is a perseverant hero who fought for gender equality in her time.

“Kartini is a national hero for gender equality because she became a role model in fighting for women’s rights and gave a huge contribution to the development of education, especially for women,” he said while expressing hope that Kartini’s struggle not only serves as a national history but also inspires the Indonesian people to achieve advancement.

“Although times have changed, the spirit and vision of Kartini will never change. They will remain consistent and live through different times and eras,” he remarked. (FID/UN) (DH/LW)
