Pancasila as the philosophy of the nation is a powerful weapon to address a host of problems the country is facing, according to Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.

“Pancasila as the state ideology that lives in this nation, that grows and develops from the nation itself, has always been proven to be the solution to all the nation’s problems,” he said during the commemoration of Pancasila Day that falls on Tuesday (1/6).

Pramono also expressed belief that the Indonesian people have applied the values that Pancasila embodies.

“We realize that Indonesian people from different backgrounds have applied Pancasila’s values in their daily lives. The core and the true essence of Pancasila include divinity, humanity, nationalism, consensual democracy, and social justice for all Indonesian people,” he said.

Amid the the struggle among the Indonesian people to overcome and to recover from the ongoing pandemic, Pramono added, the spirit of mutual cooperation (gotong royong) shown by all components of the nation has become a manifestation of Pancasila’s values.

“One of the most important meanings in Pancasila amid the COVID-19 pandemic is mutual cooperation. Through mutual cooperation, we are aware that the Indonesian people can solve many issues, including the COVID-19,” he added.

On that occasion, Pramono also appealed to all Indonesian people to remain consistent in implementing Pancasila’s values.

“Happy Pancasila Day. Let us apply Pancasila’s values in all lines of our lives for the betterment of the nation and the state. Freedom!” he remarked. (MAY/UN) (RIF/EP)
