Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung invites all elements of the nation to join hands in efforts to combat narcotics and illegal drugs.

“The Government and all elements of society must share a strong will to reduce and eliminate drug abuse due to its destructive impact on anyone, including families, the nation, and the country,” Pramono said during the 2022 Commemoration of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (HANI), Sunday (6/26).

According to him, drugs have become a destructive crime against any nation and country.

“This commemoration day should serve as a momentum to fight against drugs with a strong determination,” he said.

As quoted from the website of the National Anti-Narcotics Agency (BNN), June 26 is designated as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The decision was made based on United Nations (UN) Resolution Number 42/112 dated December 7, 1987.

For the record, the HANI commemoration day aims to remind the world community to unite their determination and strengthen action and cooperation to create a world order that is free from drug abuse. (MAY/UN) (RIF/HD)
