Cabinet Secretary: Reshuffle is the President’s Prerogative

The authority to reshuffle the cabinet is fully on the President, according to Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.

“Cabinet is the authority of the President. The President has the prerogative to carry out the reshuffle whenever he wants. It can be done today, tomorrow, or the day after since it is the authority of the President,” he told reporters on Tuesday (06/14).

Pramono added that President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, who has been leading the cabinet for eight years, must surely know about the needs of the cabinet.

The President, he added, also has the full authority to decide the reshuffle, the ministers, and the parties where they come from to cater the needs of the cabinet. (MAY/UN) (RAS/EP)
