Indonesia is back in the global spotlight with the hosting of the 2026 Indonesian Motorcycle Grand Prix (MotoGP) at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara province, on October 9–11, 2026. This prestigious motorcycle racing event is an opportunity for Indonesia to demonstrate its attractiveness and capacity to host international-level sporting events.

“This weekend, all eyes are on Mandalika, Lombok, which will once again host the 2026 Indonesian MotoGP on October 9–11, 2026,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya in his statement.

He said that the participation of two young Indonesian racers, Mario Aji and Veda Ega Pratama, is one of the highlights of this year’s event.

“Two young Indonesian racers, Mario Aji and Veda Ega Pratama, are ready to compete alongside world-class racers, bringing Indonesia’s spirit and hope to world-class racing tracks,” he said.

The young racers’ participation in an event as big as MotoGP is a chance to showcase the potential of Indonesia’s youth in sports. Public support is expected to boost the racers’ enthusiasm to deliver their best performances in front of their home crowd.

Furthermore, Cabinet Secretary Teddy called on the public to join in welcoming and supporting the 2026 Indonesian MotoGP. After hosting FIFA ASEAN Cup last week, Indonesia through the Mandalika MotoGP has another chance to showcase the Indonesia’s natural beauty, hospitality, and ability to host world-class sporting events.

“Following the success of FIFA ASEAN Cup last week, let us once again show to the world the Indonesia’s beauty, hospitality, warmth, and ability to host world-class sporting events,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy concluded. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (JAS/MMB)
