Innovation and creativity are important amidst the rapidly-changing world, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung has said.

“The world has undergone changes. I hope all echelon officials, including all staffs will live in a more inspiring and more dynamic atmosphere,” Pramono said during the inauguration ceremony of new echelon III and echelon IV officials at Cabinet Secretariat in Jakarta, Tuesday (20/8).

The Cabinet Secretary cited an example of when President Jokowi entered the Merdeka Palace yard riding the Indonesia-1 Presidential car in the ceremony of the Commemoration of the 74th Proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at the yard of the Merdeka Palace on Saturday (17/8), which triggered an amazing response from the public attended.

He also mentioned other examples such as 35 Indonesian innovators who consist of the youth who studied abroad in the top-ranked world’s best universities, as well as those who invented the 5G technology and the Cambridge analytic development, adding that blind and autistic singer Kodi Lee who has a good voice and plays piano could inspire the world.

“The world is experiencing significant changes, including the US-China trade war. Indonesia should reap benefits from that,” Pramono added.

On that occasion, Pramono also encouraged the appointed officials to work out of the routine in order to make breakthroughs.

“There is no value in doing things monotonously,” he said.

He also called on all officials and staffs to work with excitement and to never be satisfied with what they have currently achieved. It is time for Cabinet Secretariat to think with non-linear creative innovation, he added. (MAY / RAH / ES)
