Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen Arrives in Jakarta for Official Visit

Senate President of the Kingdom of Cambodia Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen arrived in Jakarta, Monday (05/05) for a three-day official visit to Indonesia.

Senate President Hun Sen touched down Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base at 09:50 Western Indonesian Time and was received with a ceremonial guard of honor at the tarmac by Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Indonesian Ambassador to Cambodia Santo Darmosumarto, and Air Force Base Commander Air Vice Marshal (Marsma TNI) Muzafar.

Afterwards, Senate President Hun Sen and his delegation departed for Merdeka Palace, where an official meeting with President Prabowo Subianto, was scheduled to take place.

“President Prabowo is scheduled to officially welcome Senate President Hun Sen with a formal ceremony at the Merdeka Palace. The two leaders are expected to hold a tête-à-tête in the President’s office, followed by an official state luncheon hosted by President Prabowo,” Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Yusuf Permana said in his written statement.

The meeting is seen as a significant moment to enhance bilateral relations between Indonesia and Cambodia. It is also expected to strengthen strategic cooperation across various sectors. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RIF/LW)
