The Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) has given unqualified opinion (WTP) to the 2018 Central Government Financial Report (LKPP) for the third consecutive year.

“That means the Government’s accountability in managing the 2018 State Budget based on its financial report has complied with the government accounting standards,” President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo said during a Submission of the 2018 Examination Results of the Central Government Financial Report (LKPP), and the 2018 Overview of Semester II Examination Results (IHP) at the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (29/5).

The examination results show that there are more ministries/institutions receiving the WTP opinion this year.

“There were 74 ministries/institutions in 2016, 80 ministries/institutions in 2017, 82 ministries/institutions in 2018. The number has reached 95 percent of the total ministries/institutions in the country. In addition, ministries/institutions received qualified opinion (WDP) also went down from 8 in 2016 and 6 in 2017 to 4 ministries/institutions in 2018,” the President said.

The four ministries/institutions receiving qualified opinions (WDP) are the General Elections Commission (KPU), Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

“The number of Ministries/institutions receiving disclaimer opinion (TMP) has also decreased from 6 ministries/institutions in 2016, 2 in 2017, to only 1 in 2018, namely the Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla),” President Jokowi added.

On that occasion, the President reminded ministries/institutions receiving WDP or TMP opinions to take that result into consideration so they will not receive such opinions next year.

“I want you to coordinate and make some breakthroughs to resolve the BPK findings such as goods expenditure, capital expenditure, fixed assets, construction in progress, and intangible assets,” he said, adding that the ministries/institutions must get better results on financial reports next year and receive WTP opinion.

The Head of State also urged all ministries/institutions to improve the state financial management since it is a form of their constitutional responsibility to the state and moral responsibility to the people that the state budget, public money must be used entirely for the benefit of the people.

President Jokowi expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the BPK’s hard work in completing the 2018 Examination Results of the LKPP and 2018 Overview of Semester II Examination Results.

“The Government will immediately follow up several recommendations from the BPK, including the improvement in management and accountability of the State Budget for next year,” he said. (MAY/EN)
