Chairman of the Constitutional Court (MK) Arief Hidayat accompanied by the Secretary General of the Constitutional Court, Janedjri M Gaffar and Minister of State Secretary Pratikno meet President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday (10/8).

According to Arief, his arrivals is intended for an audience and convey an invitation to the President, for giving a speech in a series of events the anniversary of the Constitutional Court on August 13, 2015.

“Our arrival, actually wanted to ask the willingness of the President to give a speech and open the events in the anniversary of the Constitutional Court,” said Arief told the reporters after accepted by President Jokowi.

A series of events in the anniversary of the Constitutional Court, according to Arief, of which there is the international symposium, which will be attended by 250 participants from 22 countries, consists of the Presidents and Chairmen the Constitutional Court throughout the world.

“We invite the President to dinner with the participants on August 16 at the Fairmont Hotel, Jakarta. This banquet, to commemorate the 12th anniversary of the Constitutional Court,” Arief said.

When meeting with President Jokowi, at the Presidential Palace on Monday (10/8), Chairman Constitutional Court Arief Hidayat claimed also reported on the election of the Secretary General of the Constitutional Court, the candidates now only 3 (three) people, namely Budi Achmad Djohari, Ak., Prof. , Dr. Guntur M. Hamzah, SH, M.H, and Ir. Noor Sidhartha, M.H., M.B.A.

“The final decision is in the President, who would later be appointed to replace the current Secretary General. These three candidates are Echelon II of the Constitutional Court, “said Arief as he mentioned, the chosen will replace Janedjri M Gaffar who has 12 years in office and was able to build together the previous Chief Justice, namely Jimly Asshidiqie, Mahfud MD, and Akil Mochtar and Hamdan Zoelva that makes the Constitutional Court as a prestigious institution, not only recognized at the national level, but also received international awards.
