Date 16 Oktober 2018
Head of Public Relations Bureau of National Civil Servant Agency (BKN), Mohammad Ridwan, in a press release, stated that this years applicants for civil servants candidates (CPNS) have broken the record for the most applicants in the history.
The BKN Data Center recorded that 4,436,694 people apply for the 2018 CPNS recruitment. From this number, 3,782,685 applicants have selected the institutions, and 3,627,981 among them had submitted the application documents, as stated in the press release on Tuesday (10/16).
As a comparison, according to Ridwan, CPNS applicants in 2014 reached 2.6 million, while in 2017 only 2.4 million.
The registration period was initially planned to be closed on October 10, 2018, but was extended until October 15, 2018,said Ridwan, adding that the decision made at the National Selection Committee meeting, taking place at the office of Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform, on October 2, 2018.
The registration period is extended because disasters hit several regions in Indonesia, such as earthquake in West Nusa Tenggara province and earthquake as well as tsunami in Central Sulawesi province. Other reasons for this extension are population data mismatch issue and difficulty in accessing the registration website.
Meanwhile, the CPNS recruitment process for disaster affected regions in Central Sulawesi will be postponed, Ridwan said in the press release.
The National Selection Committee have decided that the 2018 CPNS selection processes for regional governments in Central Sulawesi Province, Donggala Regency, Palu City, Sigi Regency, and Parigi Moutong Regency are postponed until 2019.
In addition, the recruitment process for regional CPNS in Papua and West Papua will be carried out separately, Ridwan concluded. (Public Relations Division of BKN / EN) (STU/MMB/Naster)
