Civil Servants of Ministry of Transportation to Wear Traditional Attire on Tuesdays

According to Circular Letter of Minister of Transportation Number SE 19 of 2019 on Uniform of Civil Servants of Ministry of Transportation, the employees are required to wear traditional attire every Tuesday to show love for the nation as well as to increase awareness of the diversity of Indonesian culture.

“Starting today, the employees will wear traditional attire on Tuesdays as written on the circular letter,” said Head of Communication and Public Information Bureau of the Ministry Hengki Angkasawan in Jakarta, Tuesday (3/9).

He added that Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi himself is also wearing traditional attire when attending a meeting with members of the House of Representatives.

Hengki went on to say that the Minister ordered all levels of the Ministry to carry out activities which bring values of unity, cooperation and humanity, as a concrete manifestation to show love and compassion for the country.

“We are very happy and proud to wear traditional attire. This is one of our ways to maintain national unity,” said Hengki (PR of Ministry of Transportation/ES)
