Concluding Official Visit to St Petersburg, President Prabowo Returns Home

President Prabowo Subianto concluded his official visit to the Russian Federation and returned to Indonesia on Friday (06/20). The President and delegates took off from Pulkovo International Airport, St Petersburg, at around 10.15 p.m. local time.
Upon arriving at the airport, President Prabowo was welcomed by a guard of honor. The Head of State rendered a salute respectfully when national anthems of Indonesia and Russia were played then headed to the aircraft afterward.
Several high-ranking officials of the Russian Federation attended the send-off ceremony. In addition, there were also Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Indonesian Ambassador to the Russian Federation Jose Antonio Morato Tavares, and Defense Attaché First Marshal Jatmiko Adi during the ceremony.
During a two-day visit to Russia, President Prabowo had carried out some important agenda that aimed at advancing bilateral relations between Indonesia and Russia and boosting Indonesia’s profile on the global stage. One of the main agendas was the bilateral meeting with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin at Konstantinovsky Palace on Thursday (06/19). Both leaders discussed strategic issues during the meeting and witnessed the exchange of MoU documents in various sectors including higher education, transportation, and investment.
As an honorable guest, President Prabowo attended the Plenary Session of St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2025, on Friday (06/20), that was also attended by some world leaders. The SPIEF 2025 adopted a theme “Shared Values: The Foundation of Growth in a Multipolar World”.
The official visit was part of Indonesia’s active diplomacy under President Prabowo Subianto’s leadership and part of the efforts to strengthen the country’s position amidst global dynamics that is increasingly multipolar.
