President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo admitted that he has proposed Perry Warjiyo as Deputy for Bank Indonesia Governor replacing Agus Martowardojo who will soon finish his tenure. The proposed letter has been sent to the Speakers of the House of Representatives.

“We have sent the proposal to the House of Representatives. You can ask the House of Representatives. I proposed only one name, Perry Warjiyo,” President Jokowi said to the journalists after inaugurating Factory for Raw Materials of Medicine and Biological Products, PT Kalbio Global Medika, in Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java, on Tuesday (27/2) morning.

The reason why the President has selected Perry, President Jokowi conveyed that he considered all aspects, from his experiences, track record, achievements, capabilities, to his field experiences.

“I consider him as the most senior Deputy. He understands well about monetary, inflation, policy at Bank Indonesia, our central bank. I think Pak Perry Warjiyo’s capabilities should not be doubt,” President Jokowi firmly said. (FID/RAH/ES) (EPI/YM/Naster)
