Considering the results of the study of the Committee for Acceleration of Infrastructure Provision, the Government considers it necessary to make changes to the National Strategy Project with the aim to maximize the accelerated programs being implemented.

In this regard, on 20 July  2018, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo signed Presidential Regulation Number 56 of 2018 on the Second Amendment to Presidential Regulation Number 3 of 2016 on the Acceleration of the Implementation of National Strategic Projects.

In the appendix to this Presidential Regulation, 227 projects are listed in the National Strategic Projects, the number of which is fewer than those of Presidential Regulation Number 58 of 2017, which was 248 projects.

Some of the projects deleted in the National Strategic Project list, both the construction is completed and not yet commenced are: Soreang Toll Road – Pasir Koja (Bandung); Raden Inten II Airport (Lampung), Kertapati – Simpang – Tanjung Api-Api Railways; Muara Enim – Baai Island Railways; Jambi – Pekanbaru Railways; Jambi – Palembang Railways, East-West Corridor of Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit; Sebatik Airport, and Mojokerto – Surabaya Toll Road.

The new projects listed in the National Strategic Project include Ciawi-Sukabumi-Ciranjang-Padalarang toll road along 115 km (previously separated into two: Ciawi-Sukabumi along 54 km and Sukabumi-Ciranjang-Padalarang along 61 km), Kediri Airport (East Java), and the Jakarta Elevated Loop Line.

“This Presidential Regulation shall come into force on the date of promulgation,” reads Article II of Presidential Regulation Number 56 of 2018, which has been promulgated by Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna H. Laoly on 20 July 2018. (Center for Data and Information/ES) (MUR/MMB/YM/Naster).
