Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Wiranto has decided to postpone a sub-regional meeting on counterterrorism scheduled for Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) on Monday (6/8) and encouraged guests and delegates to return to their respective countries.

“Due to the earthquake, we have decided to postpone the sub-regional meeting on counterterrorism and allow all guests to return to their respective countries,” Wiranto said in Lombok, on Sunday (5/8).

For the record, a 7-magnitude earthquake struck NTB on Sunday (5/8) evening. Until this morning, at least 82 people dead, hundreds more injured, and thousand of houses damaged resulting from the earthquake.

The Coordinating Minister explained that the quake occured during a gala dinner welcoming the delegates and was felt by all participants.

However, Wiranto ensures all guests and delegates are safe and sound despite of the 7-magnitude earthquake.
