Covid-19 Outbreak: Indonesia’s Confirmed Cases Rise to 686 as Death Toll Increases to 55

Indonesia on Tuesday (24/3) reported 107 new confirmed covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases to 686, the Government’s spokesperson for covid-19 management Achmad Yurianto has announced.
Of 686 people, 30 recovered from the virus, while 55 died, he added.
“The Government is absolutely serious in handling this pandemic. For those who want to carry out self-isolation and need information on covid-19, please call 119 extension 9 or through other online services related to covid-19. We hope those channels will help the public to get the latest update on the virus,” Achmad said.
In the meantime, covid-19 cases are reported in the following regions:
- Capital Jakarta, total 424 cases, 23 recovered, and 31 dead;
- West Java province, total 60 cases, 5 recovered, and 10 dead;
- Banten province, total 65 cases, 1 recovered, and 4 dead;
- East Java province, total 51 cases, 0 recovered, and 1 dead;
- Central Java province, total 19 cases, 0 recovered, and 3 dead;
- East Kalimantan province, total 11 cases, 0 recovered, and 0 dead;
- Bali province, total 6 cases, 0 recovered, and 2 dead;
- Riau Islands province, total 5 cases, 0 recovered, and 1 dead;
- Yogyakarta Special Region, total 6 cases, 1 recovered, and 1 dead;
- South East Sulawesi province, total 3 cases, 0 recovered, and 0 dead;
- North Sumatera province, total 2 cases, 0 recovered, and 1 dead;
- West Kalimantan province, total 3 cases, 0 recovered, and 0 dead;
- Central Kalimantan province, total 3 cases, 0 recovered, and 0 dead;
- South Sulawesi province, total 4 cases, 0 recovered, and 1 dead;
- Papua province, total 3 cases, 0 recovered, and 0 dead;
- Riau province, total 2 cases, 0 recovered, and 0 dead;
