COVID-19 Task Force Issues New Guidelines for International Travelers
The COVID-19 Task Force has issued Addendum to Circular Number 23 of 2021 on International Travel Health Protocols during COVID-19 Pandemic.
The addendum, signed by Head of the COVID-19 Task Force Suharyanto on December 2, 2021, stipulates provisions on quarantine time and provisions on the second RT-PCR test for international travelers.
“The addendum to the circular aims to monitor, control, and evaluate measures to prevent an increase in the transmission of COVID-19, including new variants such as SARS-CoV-2 variant B.1.1.529 found in several countries as well as the future variant of the SARS-CoV-2,” Suharyanto states in the Addendum.
The provisions stipulated in the addendum are as follows:
4. All international travelers, both Indonesian citizens (WNI) and foreign citizens (WNA), must comply with the following conditions / requirements:
d. Upon arrival, international travelers must take a RT-PCR re-test and undergo a 10-day quarantine;
h. Head of foreign representatives working in Indonesia and their family members may undergo self-quarantine at their residence for 10 days as referred to in letter d; and
k. For Indonesian citizens and foreign citizens, a second RT-PCR test must be carried out:
- on the 9th day of quarantine for international travelers who undergo quarantine for 10 days; or
- on the 13th day of quarantine for international travelers who undergo quarantine for 14 days.
“The addendum to the circular shall apply from December 3, 2021 until further notice and will be evaluated if deemed necessary,” the addendum states.
