Head of the National Agency for Disaster Mitigation (BNPB) Doni Monardo as Head of COVID-19 Mitigation Working Committee said that several offices that have imposed new normal order must implement two work shifts.

“The first shift starts between 07.00-07.30 and ends between 15.00-15.30. Meanwhile, the second shift starts between 10.00 -10.30 and ends around 18.00-18.30,” Doni said after attending a Limited Cabinet Meeting, Monday (27/7).

Doni went on to say that the number of employees who work in shifts should be set proportionally to just half of the normal number.

“Vulnerable groups in government institutions and private sectors are not required to come to the office,” Doni added.

According to him, vulnerable groups include the elderly, patients with comorbidity factors, such as hepatitis, hypertension, diabetes, severe kidney disease, cancer, heart disease, and respiratory disease.

“If we can do this, we can protect some of residents. Based on the data we received, 85% of the death rate is caused by comorbidity factors,” Doni said.

In the meantime, Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Budi Gunadi Sadikin as Head of the National Economic Recovery and Transformation Working Committee expressed his belief that the Government could reach 100 percent absorption rate by the end of this year.

On that occasion, Budi also expressed his hope to receive Finance Ministry approval of the budget for additional social assistance, including prioritizing productive social assistance.

“The budget is now being finalized with Ministry of Finance, it is expected to disburse immediately,” Budi concluded. (MAY/FID/EN)
