Indonesia is a very important partner for Czechia and the EU, according to Prime Minister of Czechia Petr Fiala.

“Our economic cooperation is growing and it is very important now. Our import from Indonesia was US$637 million last year,” PM Fiala said during a joint press statement, after a bilateral meeting with President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, at the Bogor Presidential Palace, Thursday (04/18).

In that bilateral meeting, Indonesia and Czechia discussed cooperation in new fields.

“I have representatives of Czech companies here with me. They would like to start or expand their business with partners from your country,” the Prime Minister said.

He went on to say that Indonesia and Czechia have many other opportunities besides Czech traditional export to Indonesia, such as energy sector, medical devices, and aviation products. He also said he would look forward to bringing more Czech products to Indonesian market.

“We can increase investment in Indonesia,” he added.

According to PM Fiala, Indonesia is Czechia’s strong partner in security and defense. He also expressed hope that the cooperation, including on cyber security, can be further enhanced.

On that occasion, he also delivered the interest of Czech companies in development project of the Nusantara Capital (IKN).

Czech companies have interests in the project. Some of them are on this visit with me. They can provide smart and green technologies for example. (SLN/UN) (RAS/MUR)
