Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Good morning,

May prosperity be upon us all,

Om Swastiastu,

Namo Buddhaya,

Greetings of virtue,

Greetings of Pancasila,

Honorable Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia,

Honorable Speaker of the House of the Regional Representatives Council of the Republic of Indonesia,

Honorable Chief of Judicial Commission of the Republic of Indonesia,

Honorable Ministers of the Indonesia Onward Cabinet,

Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces and Chief of the Indonesian National Police, and Chief of State Intelligence Agency,

Honorable Head of Agency for Fostering Pancasila Ideology and all attending officials,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We should be grateful that our country remains strong and stable, maintains unity, and has a growing economy amidst global challenges full of uncertainties and global geopolitical crisis full of intensity and rivalry.

We should always be optimistic because we have Pancasila, the five principles, that will guide the direction of the nation.

Because we have strong social and cultural aspects.

Because we have abundant human and natural resources.

Therefore, we should continue strengthening national independence and achieving self-reliance in economy.

My Fellow Citizens,

Indonesia is consistent with our free and active politics, fighting for the independence of all nations, including the independence of Palestinian nation and fighting for world peace. The role of Indonesia in international politics is getting bigger. We became a successful G20 leader, a successful Chairperson of ASEAN, and we continue contributing to the world, including through World Water Forum which we have organized.

Our roles in the international stage do not diminish our struggle to be independent in the economic sector. We continue fighting for economic independence including through industrialization in domestic stage and through downstreaming in various sectors.

We have to guarantee that the state’s richness is fully used for the people’s prosperity. We also have to be active in acquiring back our national strategic asset, managing and using them largely for the people’s prosperity such as Rokan block in Riau province, the place we hold the commemoration ceremony of Pancasila day. After we have acquired the majority of Freeport’s shares, then we acquire this Rokan block in Dumai city. It is the most productive oil and gas block in the history of Indonesia’s oil, which had been managed by foreign companies Caltex and Chevron for 97 years.

We hope that the justice of Pancasila can deliberate us from our dependence on foreign parties. This morning, President Director of Pertamina reported me that the production in Rokan block have reached 162 thousand barrels per day, higher compared to the production made by Caltex or Chevron, and it is 25 percent of the whole national production. Rokan block is the biggest block. Freeport and Rokan block are only a few examples of our spirit and effort to establish political sovereignty and to promote economic independence that supports national importance to stand on our own feet.

My Fellow Citizens,

Additionally, we also continue taking steps in global movement to work toward green economy. Certainly, we do not follow suit. It is because we own a huge power. We are highly competitive in green economy. We have almost all kinds of green energy, from geothermal energy, solar energy, hydro energy, wind energy, and wave energy. We also have plantation resources that can be processed to biodiesel, bioethanol, and bioavtur.

The power of green energies will lead to green industry, green economic funding, in green food, and in open new opportunities for green jobs that bring welfare as well as sustainability. Therefore, energy transition should continue in stages. We should accelerate energy transition to green energy. State-owned enterprises Pertamina and PLN should develop green energies that increase added values domestically, bring welfare to the people, bring welfare to the low-income people. This is in line with the values of Pancasila.

My Fellow Citizens,

In this dynamic era, Pancasila values should be actualized and inherited in real action and in real policies that give clear result and can actually bring benefit to the people. Today, Indonesian demography is dominated by Generation Y, Millennial Generation, Generation Z, and Generation Alpha. Therefore, the way we disseminate Pancasila should also relate to their fashion, encouraging them to practice what role models do as well as to practice and develop Indonesian cultures.

I call on the people of Indonesia to continue to hold firmly Pancasila values, to reflect them in words, actions, and policies that stand by all the people of Indonesia, and to bring dignity to Indonesia before the eyes of the world.

That conclude my remarks in this opportune moment. May Allah subhanahu wa Ta’ala always endow His blessings to our efforts in preserving Pancasila, preserving the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

I thank you.

Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
