Ladies and Gentlemen, Esteemed Guests.

Good morning.

Good morning.

Good morning.

On behalf of the people, nation and state, I wish you a happy 76th Police Day and I would like to express my appreciation for the hard work of the Police in serving the people and in defending the nation and state.

All Indonesian people and I have high hopes for the Police. The Police has enormous authority, penetrates down to the village level, and is in direct contact with the public. Whenever you are on duty, you will always be under the public scrutiny and judgement. The public will judge the behavior of the Police, whether it is in line with their expectation.

The latest survey by leading media agency Kompas showed that 58.3 percent of respondents considered that the actions of the Police are already in accordance with the ‘Presisi’ (an abbreviation for Predictive, Responsibility, Transparency and Fairness in Indonesian) vision. However, bear in mind that 28.6 percent of the respondents said otherwise. Other than that survey, I also continue to follow the news in conventional media and social media. Any carelessness on the ground, no matter how small, can damage public confidence in the Police institution. Therefore, work carefully and work with precision.

Dear all ranks of the Police,

We still have a lot of Herculean tasks to do. First, the COVID-19 pandemic still needs serious handling. I ask the Police to always be ready to deal with COVID-19.

Second, we must be alert to global uncertainties, energy crisis, food crisis, and financial crisis. Therefore, the National Police must ensure public security and order so that we are more resilient in facing these challenges.

Third, we must be more prepared to face the latest technology-based crime. Therefore, the Police must be more advanced than the perpetrators of those crimes, must continue to innovate and improve their skills in technology.

Dear all ranks of the Police,

The Police must support the national agendas. First, the development of the New Capital of Nusantara (IKN). Capital relocation is shifting the way of work to drive Indonesia’s progress to the future and the Police must guard it so that it can run in a smooth and timely manner.

Second, the ongoing G20 agenda must be continuously guided. The highlight will be the G20 Summit in November this year in Bali, which will be attended by the heads of the G20 member states.

Third, the simultaneous legislative, presidential and regional elections in 2024 must be well anticipated. Do provide maximum support for security and public order so that the democratic fiesta can run smoothly.

Dear all ranks of the Police,

In a bid to face the increasingly difficult challenges, individual members of the Police and its institutions must continue to innovate, be more adaptive, responsive, and transform into modern institutions and create synergy with the Indonesian National Defense Force (TNI), ministries and institutions in carrying out their duties.

I would like to remind everyone that the public must feel the sense of justice and the benefits of the law. The Police must prioritize prevention measures to maintain public security and order. Always take various actions humanely, but firm when necessary. Make law enforcement as a last resort, the Police must comply with procedures and uphold human rights.

Lastly, I invite everyone to pray for Police members who were fallen while serving the country, to wish them rest in peace. We also wish all Police members along with their families a good health.

That concludes my directives. Happy Anniversary the Indonesian National Police, continue to serve the nation and state.

Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
