Eid Al-Fitr During COVID-19 Will Be ‘More Solemn’: Cabinet Secretary
This year’s Eid al-Fitr, celebrated during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, will be ‘more solemn’ compared to those in the previous years, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung has said.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has raised our awareness as creatures of Allah SWT,” Cabinet Secretary said in his message on Eid al Fitr 1441 Hijri/2020 AD.
According to Pramono, the celebration of this year’s Eid al-Fitr is very different from Eid celebration in the previous years. Nevertheless, he added, this year’s Eid provides more time for the people to connect with God.
“I hope what we did during the fasting month will bring us to a more solemn and touching Eid al-Fitr celebration,” Pramono stated.
Pramono went on to say that despite the Government’s policy to ban mudik (annual exodus ahead of Eid al-Fitr), technology makes it easier for the people to connect with their family, while expressing hope that the faithful will celebrate this Eid al-Fitr together with all religious adherents in Indonesia while continuing the fight against COVID-19.
“I am Pramono Anung Wibowo, Cabinet Secretary, wishing you a Happy Eid al-Fitr 1441 Hijri,” Pramono said. (RSF/EN)
