EU Applauds Indonesia’s Economic De-regulations Policy

The European Union and its businesspeople have a trust in Indonesia’s economy, according to President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo during a press statement at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, on Saturday (23/4) afternoon, after a 5-day working visit to Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

“Our economic de-regulation policies have received positive response,” President Jokowi said.

The four European countries, the President added, also appreciated and have high expectations to the Indonesia’s role in keeping peace by developing moderate, democratic, and tolerant Islam.

“Currently, the values of Islam which promote moderation, democracy, and tolerance have become Indonesian diplomatic assets in the international community, “the President said.

Accompanying the President during the press conference were Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Rizal Ramli, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Presidential Chief of Staff Teten Masduki, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Yuddy Chrisnandi, and the Head of Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Franky Sibarani.  (UN/EN) (RAS/EP/YM/Naster)
