The Government of Indonesia declares war on drugs given narcotics and illicit drugs are global problems, that happened in all countries.

The statement was enunciated by Cabinet Secretary in an inverview at his office, Jakarta, ahead of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking which falls on June 26.

“President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has repeatedly ordered police officers, prosecutors, the National Anti-Narcotics Agency (BNN), and Head of National Intelligence Agency (BIN) to declare war on drugs. Although many perpetrators have been arested, drugs are still distributing in the country,” Pramono said.

Pramono asserted that family is the key factor of the eradication of drugs. From an early age, children must be protected from the exposure of drugs.

“Because the family is the door, the key to prevent this nation from drugs. Family is the heart,” the Cabinet Secretary firmly said.

One thing that is equally important is law enforcement. Firm law enforcement made by the Government of President Joko Widodo’s administration has executed a number of drug dealers. This firm action will bring a deterrent effect to anyone having intention to distribute drugs in the Republic of Indonesia.

“Indonesia declares war on drugs,” Pramono stated.

Besides families, schools also play important role in preventing children from drug abuse.

“Considering drugs are distributing in our neighborhoods, we must  keep children away from drugs at home and school,” Pramono added.

According to the Cabinet Secretary, schools should only allow children to leave school when they are on break or when they return home. He believes it is better for them to play at the school’s area.

Lastly, Pramono reminded people that the future of this nation depends on the children. “The next generation, our children, need to be guarded so that this nation can become the winner in the future,” Pramono concluded.
