Final Cabinet Meeting Reviews Government’s Achievements, Prepares Transition
Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung addressed the media following the final Plenary Cabinet Meeting held at the Garuda Palace in Nusantara Capital, Friday (09/13). The meeting reviewed the Government’s accomplishments over the past decade and discussed preparations for the transition to the administration of President-elect Prabowo Subianto.
“This was the final Cabinet Meeting. The President gave directives for ministers to prepare key points to be presented to the public, highlighting the achievements of the ten-year administration led by President Jokowi, alongside Vice President Jusuf Kalla in the first tenure and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin in the second,” said the Cabinet Secretary.
Pramono further explained that the Government has prepared a blueprint to ensure a smooth government transition. All coordinating ministries, including the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs, as well as the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, have devised strategies and communication plans to present the Government’s achievements to the public in the last month of administration.
“In general terms, the plans have been prepared and agreed upon, and hopefully, within this month, all Government’s achievements can be comprehensively communicated and delivered to the public,” he added.
In response to questions about the possibility of another cabinet meeting before October 20, Pramono confirmed that today’s Plenary Cabinet Meeting was the final one. However, he did not rule out the possibility of a Limited Cabinet Meeting should it be needed.
“There were also directives from both President Jokowi and President-elect Prabowo, that in the near future, several ministers should coordinate to further explore the decisions made in today’s Plenary Cabinet Meeting,” he explained.
The Cabinet Secretary also stated that the main focus during the remaining month of the administration is to complete any pending tasks, particularly those related to the National Strategic Projects, transfer to regions, and maintaining economic stability in order to keep the above 5 percent economic growth and inflation in check.
“The most important matters are the pending issues, particularly concerning the National Strategic Projects, transfer to regions, and ensuring that the economy continues to grow above 5 percent during this transition period, while keeping inflation in check,” he concluded. (MAY/DNS) (AY/MMB)
