First Lady Iriana Leads Spouse Program during ASEAN Summit

First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo hosted an activity with spouses of ASEAN leaders at Waringin peak, West Manggarai regency, East Nusa Tenggara province, Wednesday (05/10) as part of a series of activities during the 42nd ASEAN Summit.
Mrs. Iriana welcomed the arrival of the ASEAN leaders’ spouses, among others, Mrs. Bun Rany Hun Sen from Cambodia, Mrs. Vandara Siphandone from Laos, Mrs. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail from Malaysia, Mrs. Louise Araneta Marcos from the Philippines, and Mrs. Ho Ching from Singapore.
First, the group watched a demonstration of weaving traditional East Nusa Tenggara fabrics.
Afterwards, Mrs. Iriana invited the spouses to see a number of culture-based activities, including the Dundundake dance, the traditional Rangku Alu game, and the performance of a number of the province’s folk songs.
Mrs. Iriana also invited the spouses to go to the Waringin peak to see a number of East Nusa Tenggara micro, small and medium enterprise products ranging from handicrafts to traditional food, followed by a tea party while enjoying East Nusa Tenggara regional songs as well as songs from several ASEAN countries.
