Foreign Minister Sends Off Evacuation Team to Hubei

Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi has said that Indonesian citizens in several cities in Province of Hubei, China had headed for Wuhan City.

“In total, our citizens are spread across five cities,” Retno said before the Evacuation Team at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Saturday (1/2).

According to Retno, there are 245 Indonesians plus five from the Advanced Team who will return with the Evacuation Team. “So the team will pick up 250 citizens from Wuhan,” she added.

On the occasion, the Minister also expressed appreciation for the cooperation provided by involved ministries and agencies so that the evacuation could be carried out. She also urged the team to carry out the evacuation process in accordance with the health protocol before returning evacuees to their respective families.

Furthermore, Retno also bid the team a safe journey.

“I call the people of Indonesia to pray for the Evacuation Team, our citizens (in Wuhan), and for our Indonesia. Bismillah (in the name of God), I hope you all will return safe and sound,” the Minister concluded. (Kemlu.go.id/EN)
