President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Tuesday (22/10) invited former Governor of South Sulawesi Syahrul Yasin Limpo to the Palace.

“President Jokowi asked me to join the new cabinet as a representative from the National Democratic Party. My party and I will fully support the President,” Limpo said to reporters after meeting President Jokowi.

According to him, President Jokowi gave him a mandate to contribute more to the society and to fulfill the hope and needs of the Indonesian people.
Limpo went on to say that he will work harder for the interests of the state, the nation, as well as the people and to support President Jokowi in creating a better Indonesia.

However, he did not explain more regarding the position in the new cabinet. “The point is President Jokowi asked me to create a better life for 260 million people of Indonesia, particularly in agriculture, fishery, and plantation sectors,” Limpo stated.

Regarding the position of the National Democratic Party, Limpo emphasized that his party is committed to supporting President Jokowi for the sake of the people and the nation. (FID/JAY/ES)
