Free Nutritious Meals Program: New Hope for Indonesian Children
This morning, President Prabowo Subianto paid a visit to an elementary school (SDN Jati 05 Pagi) in Pulogadung district, East Jakarta. The visit is aimed at monitoring the Free Nutritious Meals Program held at the school where the students enjoy the meals. The moment President Prabowo appeared at the school also created a cheerful and pleasant atmosphere among the students who welcomed him enthusiastically.
During the visit, a student named Raga happily gave positive comments on the meals he received. Smiling widely, he said that he was content with the menu provided for the students since it had chicken as the protein.
“I really like it because it has chicken in it. I like a menu with protein,” Raga commented.
A student named Nadin had a warm interaction with President Prabowo when she asked him whether the President already had his lunch or not. According to Nadin, the President responded to her with a smile and lightly answered her question.
“President Prabowo said he will have lunch later,” Nadin mentioned.
Meanwhile, the students’ parents said that they really welcome the Free Nutritious Meals Program that has been around for a month. Neni, one of the students’ parents admitted that the program is very helpful.
“It is very helpful, usually the children were told to bring healthy and nutritious meals on Fridays. Now, every day the school provides it. So, it also eases the mothers who should prepare it in the morning,” Neni said in relief.
She also expressed hope that the program can be carried out continuously since it also makes the children not buy too much unhealthy food.
The visit paid by President Prabowo has shown a strong commitment made by the Government to ensure that Indonesian children can have balanced nutrition. Considering the enthusiasm shown by the students and their parents, the program is expected to be carried out continuously and bring benefits for the future generation of the nation.
